Props to Starbucks for bringing the duffin to the masses (not getting into the whole copyright thing…). Lots of new things and baking mashups only available in London, so great to be able to try it up north.
So, what is it? A duffin is a cross between a doughnut and a muffin. Obvs.
I met up with Nomaan for a duffin in the dark.
Starbucks’ version has a “crunchy sugary exterior similar to that of a doughnut” (Nomaan). I’d say the texture inside is like a slightly drier muffin. The “interior smells like fresh doughnuts” (Nomaan). The jam was good and worked well with the muffin/doughnut, but I think it could have done with a little bit more.
