London foodage this weekend: Halal Food Festival

Bit gutted that I’m not in London this weekend, because there is amazing foodage going on. Anyone who lives in/near the city or is heading down should definitely check out one of the big foodie events that are taking place, starting with:

Halal Food Festival – Fri 27 – Sun 29 Sep

“The world’s largest halal food festival” and the first I’ve heard of in the UK. It doesn’t matter if you eat halal or not – if you’re into interesting food, this sounds like one for you.

There’s even a mocktails area – would loved to have tried some of these!

Buyers from the big four supermarkets (and Harrods!) are set to be there and the exhibitors list sounds really delicious. It includes:

Celebrity chefs include Jean Christophe Novelli, Shelina Permalloo and Norman Musa. (Would love to meet Norman Musa)

At most food festivals and events, people who eat halal food are really restricted in terms of what we can try, so this actually sounds AMAZING – we can literally eat EVERYTHING.

There’s also a lifestyle section, where you will find Inspire Me Art (a friend of mine) showcasing “Unique Islamic Art Prints for the Modern Muslim Home”. Some really nice, inspiring, uplifting pieces of art for the home. Go and check it out if you’re there – stand J30.

And here are some EXCLUSIVE behind the scenes shots taken JUST NOW (Thu 26 Sep, 20:00), as the exhibitors set up, by Nomaan. My mouth is watering.
