Vending machine restaurant. Offering gourmet food. At an airport.

Mind blown?

Head over to Tokyo and check out Haneda Airport’s vending machine restaurant, offering gourmet food 24 hours a day.

Regular readers of this blog will know that vending machines are far from boring and can be pretty innovative and cool.

This takes it to another level. At the airport’s Terminal 2, you can go to the restaurant, select a gourmet meal from the menu and (wait for it)… have it delivered instantly. Kaboom! It’s open 24 hours a day, too, fyi, in case you happen to be there and want a gourmet meal at a random time of day.

Okay, it doesn’t look that amazing, but anyone who thinks this is just a fancy foodcourt can ssshhhhh.

  1. Travelers with little time to stop for a bite to eat may not be able to do without the cheap, fast food of vending machines, and we’ve even seen the devices installed inside taxis . Taking an alternative route however, Haneda Airport in Tokyo has introduced a sit-down vending machine restaurant, offering gourmet food 24 hours a day.
