Selfridges on Oxford Street has opened The Silence Room; a place to get away from the hecticness of London/Oxford St. Apparently, the founder opened one back in 1909, too. Take off your shoes and hand in your technological devices. And relax. [Check out ‘digital detox’ – this needs to happen!]
They’ve also removed the logos from some iconic brands. Not that this makes much difference, because the brand packaging/look is so iconic, you can tell what it is without the brand name.
It’s part of the department store’s No Noise campaign to quieten down all the visual and audio noise we experience every day.
