A couple of interesting events have come through my inbox in the last week, combining food (whoop whoop!) and entertainment, offering a new dining/entertainment experience. A lot of people will watch TV while they eat at home, but the idea of combining entertainment/culture and dining when you’re out isn’t that common when you think of standard restaurants (unless I’m missing something really obvious).
First of all, Firmdale Films is holding an Eat Film season (the website says “October sees the return of”, so it’s not new), where they combine food and film:
“Three culinary personalities have been invited to introduce an inspirational foodie film in the hotels’ screening rooms followed by a Q&A and a 3 course dinner devised with Firmdale’s Executive Head Chef Robin Read.”
Then, this morning, I had an email from Wagamama about their ‘art and eat’ event.
“a unique showcase for some of the uk’s most exciting and emerging artists throughout our restaurants
a range of specially-created pieces will be displayed in 10 of our restaurants across the country, as well as limited edition placemats and bookmarks in all uk restaurants”
Sounds good. Haven’t been to Waga’s for a while – tempted to pop in now.
