Good PR: Ginger’s Comfort Emporium

Great headline that caught my eye in today’s Sun: “Desert dessert

Ice cream made from camel’s milk will be going on sale in the UK next month. Great brand awareness raising story by Ginger’s Comfort Emporium – “a renovated ice cream van ‘for grown ups'” [!!] and the Experimental Food Society Spectacular (I really really want to go to this!).

The ice cream is being positioned as a super food, with its high levels of iron and B vitamins (compared to cow’s milk), generating coverage in The Sun and Daily Mail, as well as some websites. Both articles mention the health benefits, but the Mail sees it as expensive. I think the ¬£4 a scoop price tag just adds to the novelty/unusual factor.

Good PR for both brands involved.
