Hacks, Channel 4

Channel 4 has commissioned a one-off comedy special on the phone hacking scandal, due to be broadcast later this year.

The working title is Hacks and it’s set in a fictional newspaper where anything goes if it means getting a story.

Guy Jenkin, who co-created Drop The Dead Donkey, is currently working on the script.

Along with the Ab Fab specials, it looks like there’s some great TV comedy about hacks and flacks coming up.

(I wonder who will be first to dramatise the riots.)

I just worked on this show today. I’m a professional supporting artist, and our code of practice means that I can’t say any more, but it looks like a lot of fun. There were a number of performers around that I wanted to sneak up to and say ” I really admire your work”, but being a PSA, or an extra, means you just mustn’t do that; it’s not like Ricky Gervaise would have you believe.
