Customisation trend: music and hotel

A couple of new examples of customisation-based business ideas in today’s Springwise email. Seems to be really taking off in the mainstream.

Fans customize & earn from band’s latest album

The Kaiser Chiefs are allowing fans to create their own mix from a selection of 20 new tracks. They pick 10, create their own customised artwork and then the album goes on sale. For each copy sold, they get £1!

Guests customize their own rooms at UK hotel

Another cool idea. This time, in the North West of England, where the Waterhead hotel is allowing customers to customise (hmmm… customers/customise – must be some link in meaning there) their own rooms. You can choose your own artwork, teapot and various other bits.
