PR #star: iCorrect

Interesting new venture that got some great air-time on Sky News today – a website called iCorrect (‘Setting the record straight’) which allows celebrities to rebutt/correct false stories about them in the media.

The site lets you view the actual text that was published alongside a statement from the celebrity.

Clever idea and surprising that it’s not been thought of before. Twitter and official websites alone obviously aren’t enough for celebrities looking to correct misinformation about themselves in the the public. Definitely going to be an extremely useful tool for publicists.

It will be a bit weird if newspapers start to use the site as source – newspapers reporting on a site that corrects incorrect newspaper reporting…
