Scotch eggs were on my Food Trends post last month and it looks the trend could be gathering momentum. There’s a whole feature on the Independent website and today’s i about how they are about to make a big comeback with the likes of Heston Blumenthal adding their own versions to menus.
The rise in popularity is being partly attributed to “increased confidence in British gastronomy”.
As well as appearing on Michelin-starred restaurants’ menus, they’re also available in Marks & Spencer, who say that sales have risen 40% year-on-year.
As I posted last time, I can see them being a big hit at Royal Wedding/’best of British’ street parties this year.
