Harvard Uni experts have come up with an edible membrane that could be used to make bottles that you can eat once you’ve finished drinking the contents…
Basically, they’ve created a mashup of biodegradable polymers and food particles to make edible membranes. Clevs.
According to the Daily Mail online, “So far, experts at Harvard University have filled an orange membrane with orange juice, a tomato-flavored enclosure with gazpacho and grape packages with wine.”
The plan is to make some ‘novelty’ items of restaurants to begin with.
Sounds good. Imagine drinking a glass of orange juice and then eating the ‘bottle’ it came in. Sign me up for trials!
